Go Dental provides wisdom teeth removal for our Calgary patients.
Wisdom teeth are the third and final set of molars that most people get in their late teens or early twenties. These teeth can be a valuable asset to the mouth when healthy and properly aligned.
Unfortunately, wisdom teeth can often grow in misaligned, or do not surface properly and become infected. In these cases, they require removal.
While some patients are able to avoid this procedure (thanks to the teeth staying buried in the bone or surfacing perfectly aligned), it’s more common for wisdom teeth to grow unevenly.
When this happens, you may risk tissue infections, damage to your other teeth and significant pain. It’s important to get your teeth examined by your Calgary dentist at the first sign of problems.
The team at Go Dental in Calgary suggests having your wisdom teeth removal done (if needed, of course) between the ages of 16 to 25 years old, as the teeth generally will come out easier and healing time is generally quicker.
Many of our patients will get their wisdom teeth out with just local anesthetic, but if you want to be sedated this is also an option.
